Madonna Fell Off The Stage At The Brit Awards, But She’s Okay

Link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/25/madonna-fell-off-stage_n_6755162.html

The first headline makes you really curious and just forces you to click on the article, I mean who hasn’t had a “Blah” day? The content in itself was very stupid, though. The second is very well written because it makes you think, “hey, I can learn something here” and some people will try to test their knowledge with this quiz. The third one would do very well in an SEO.

27 Reasons Living In The U.K. Changes You For Life

I thought the pictures in this article went really well with the little headlines for the reasons of why living in the UK would change your life. The images weren’t distracting nor were they obnoxious, this is something that can be done very easily. When adding so many options to an article one must be very wary to not over do it.

Oprah on 2016 Presidential Ballot?

Oprah Winfrey, American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist, has launched an exploratory presidential committee, named “Living Our Best Lives”, Thursday.

Two days later Winfrey confirmed the news of the committee via Twitter (@oprah): “Yes, it’s true: I’m pleased to announce the launch of a presidential exploratory committee. More to come.”

Winfrey, who resides mostly in her Montecito, Calif. home with her spouse of nearly 30 years, Steadman Graham, is considering running under the Democrat’s ballot in the Unites States presidential election of 2016. Although there has been much excitement and interest since “Living Our Best Lives” was confirmed; it has been stated that the committee is still in its stage of infancy, and was solely formed to gauge the interest of the people in Winfrey running for office.  As of right now the website is only taking email addresses and no donations.

Dubbed the “Queen of All Media”, it is expected that public interest in Winfrey being the 2016 Democratic candidate will be very favorable should she choose to run. Vanity Fair once wrote: “Oprah Winfrey arguably has more influence on the culture than any university, president, politician, or religious leader, except perhaps the Pope.” Because of this it is anticipated that Winfrey would not have a hard time transitioning from talk show host to presidential candidate.

Kim Kardashian reported dead this morning

The following is a false news story written for a college journalism course

Kim Kardashian, American television and social media personality, socialite, and model, was pronounced dead yesterday (Feb. 18) at the age of 34.

Kardashian passed away in the UCLA Medical Center, in Los Angeles, after being put through extensive treatment for rabies. Kardashian began treatment after being bitten by her niece’s rabid pet squirrel, Lorenzo, in her LA home. According to sister, Khloe Kardashian, there was no prior knowledge of Lorenzo being infected with the rabies virus nor had the squirrel shown any aggressive behavior before the incident.

The accident occurred at dawn in Kardashian’s LA home on Feb. 15. It was reported that Kardashian and her niece were playing with Lorenzo when all of sudden the squirrel became enraged and began to bite Kardashian’s hand repeatedly. Sister, Khloe, reported that the squirrel would have further attacked Kardashian if Kanye West, rapper, fashion designer and Kardashian’s husband, had not stepped in and interrupted; stating, the incident would surely have continued.

Kardashian was best known for being the star of the E! reality series, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, along with her involvement in the production of several lines of clothing and fragrances. She also made appearances in several TV shows as well as a handful of movies, winning several Choice and Teen Choice awards as well as a Golden Raspberry Award for her role in “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor”.

She was born the second of four children on Oct. 21, 1980 in Beverly Hills, California to the late Robert Kardashian and his first wife, Kris. In more recent years, the dark haired beauty reached a Paris Hilton-like celebrity status, through a series of workout videos, a TV series, the infamous “Kim K Superstar”, and scandalous marriages.

Kardashian first stepped into the business world with her Kimsaprincess Productions, LLC., which released the aforementioned workout videos. She also opened up the boutique shop D-A-S-H, alongside her two sisters, in Calabasas, California.

She was also romantically involved with many notable athletes and musicians. Among them are: the well known her 72 day long marriage with NBA player Kris Humphries, her relationship with American singer and songwriter Ray J and her marriage to rapper Kanye West.

Upon hearing the news of his wife’s death, Kanye West reportedly broke down and cried. He went on to release a slew of tweets hinting at some form of foul play by an alleged secret society in his wife’s death. However, no foul play has been reported so far.

Kanye also made a very moving speech at the funeral procession which moved the audience to tears where he talked about the great accomplishments of his deceased wife and reminisced about the great relationship they had. He later interrupted Khloe as she gave her speech to state that Beyoncé had the best eulogy of all time.

Good friend Paris Hilton also felt the blow of Kardashians death tweeting this morning.

“R.I.P., Kim. You were like a sister to me. I know you’re up there teaching the angels how to do… how to look pretty.” – tweet from close friend Paris Hilton.

People Are Animals, Too

The headline of this article is very good and catches your eye. I also really like the way they laid out the article. The pictures chosen and the strategic placement of them are very good examples of a good article. This is one reason I love Buzzfeed.

Original: Yeah, he deployed an entire operation -but after he found out where the hostages were, he waited 6 weeks BEFORE he finally authorized the mission. They were missed by 2 days. This president equivocates and cannot make decisions in a timely manner. Many have paid dearly for his indecisiveness. He will not take any risk that might put him in a bad light, politically.

These Beautiful Antique Photos Were Made With Potato Starch

I feel as if the headline could be better or at least shorter. I think it’s too long for the simplicity of the headline making it sound a little unintelligent, at least for National Geographic. However, the gallery is really amazing. The pictures look really interesting, especially since autochrome makes them like a little like a painting. The writing is also pretty good.

Guitar Chalk Sessions: Simple Ways to Do More with Power Chords

This article did well in defending the much loved and mocked power chord. However, it labeled a couple of the chords wrong; showing minor chords in the tab section while calling them major chords. It did well in teaching you how to spice these simple chords up but only furthered the naive assumption of the lack of knowledge from the lovers of power chords.
